New Bookmobile On the Road

The new Wicomico Public Library bookmobile was unveiled on February 6th at the Government Office Building, to the delight of everyone in attendance. Following comments from J. Scott Robertson, Chairperson of the Library Board of Trustees, Rick Pollitt, County Executive, John Cannon, President of the Wicomico County Council, and Tom Hehman, Library Director and a benediction by Rev. Gloria Ortiz, the new bookmobile was revealed to all. Mr. Pollitt was given the honor of checking out the first book from the new bookmobile, and tours for everyone followed. We look forward to many years of service from or new bookmobile.

Catalog Searching is Easier than Ever!

We’ve retooled our catalog keyword search feature to make it easier to find what you’re looking for. You can now type your phrase with quotation marks around it to find that exact phrase in the catalog. Also, by clicking “modify search” after you’ve done your keyword search, you can refine your search even more! Here’s a sample of what you can do:

  • Search by type of material
  • Choose which specific library location you would like to search (you may choose to search the tri-county system, a single county, or a branch).
  • By typing and asterisk (*) into the search box and choosing a type of material, you can find and browse all of that type of material. For example, by typing * and choosing DVD as your material type, you can easily browse our entire selection of DVDs. Choose a date range to see just our newest materials.
  • Use the "sort and search" box to choose to display the results of your search by date (if you want to see the newest items first), by title, or by relevance.
