Services for Patrons with Special Needs:

 

 

The Wicomico Public Library services are open to all county residents, including those with special needs based on physical limitations. Barrier free access accommodations include:

Accessible parking spaces located in the public parking lot directly across the street from the WPL. Curb cuts from the lot to the library are in place.
Automatic entrance doors.

Barrier free restrooms.

Elevator access to all floors.

Computer terminals accessible by wheelchair.

Screen reader software (NVDA) and headphone packs are available from information desks for use at public workstations.

Telephone access through Maryland Relay (TTY/TTD) is available via public access computers;
customers may use any online relay service.  The URL for  AT&T relay, for example, is http://relayservices.att.com/index/ .  Customers who need more time or more privacy for making a call may request a laptop from the Information Desk.  

Applications are available at the library (online, http://www.lbph.lib.md.us/)  for the services of the Maryland State Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped.

Sign language interpreters for library programs will be made available as possible. Two weeks notice is required so that arrangements can be made with an interpreter. Contact the information staff for assistance.

Any person who needs other special assistance or accommodation to use library facilities is encouraged to contact the library directly. In the library, check with the information staff.
