
The Wicomico Public Library services are open to all county
residents, including those with special needs based on physical
limitations. Barrier free access accommodations include:
Accessible parking
spaces located in the public parking lot directly across the street
from the WPL. Curb cuts from the lot to the library are in place.
Automatic entrance
doors.
Barrier free restrooms.
Elevator access to all floors.
Computer terminals accessible by wheelchair.
Large screen computer monitors/large print keyboards
Applications are available at the library for the services of
the Maryland State Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped.
Applications and information for Newsline for the Blind service
-- providing telephone based news service.
Sign language interpreters for library programs will be made available
as possible. Two weeks notice is required so that arrangements
can be made with an interpreter. Contact the information staff
for assistance.
Any person who needs other special assistance or accommodation
to use library facilities is encouraged to contact the library directly.
