Vice Chairperson : George Demko Ph. D
George Demko came to Salisbury over 35 years ago, accepting a position as Director of the Microbiology Laboratory at Peninsula General Hospital and adjunct instructor of Medical Technology at Salisbury State College. He retired from the hospital in 2000 and returned to college to pursue a master’s degree in TESOL (teaching English to speakers of other language). After achieving certification as an ESOL teacher, he taught for 4 years in Maryland public schools, first in Cecil County and later in Wicomico County. Since leaving the public schools, he has continued to mentor several of his former ESOL students and teaches English on a part-time basis to adult ESOL students.
