Event Details

Join us for an engaging discussion of Kin: Rooted in Hope by Carole Boston Weatherford — the 2025 One Maryland One Book selection.

📍 Paul S. Sarbanes Branch, Wicomico Public Library
📅 Tuesday, October 28th at 5:30 PM

This powerful work of verse and illustration brings to life the stories of the Weatherford family’s ancestors — from enslavement through the Civil War and Reconstruction, concluding in the 1920s. Kin: Rooted in Hope beautifully reflects this year’s theme: What We Collect, What We Tell.

Come explore a compelling narrative of resilience, history, and legacy. All are welcome!

One Maryland One Book is a program of Maryland Humanities, sponsored by the Institute for Museum and Library Services and the Maryland State Library Agency.
