If you love movies and enjoy talking about them with others, we invite you to join us for the first-ever Movies and Meaning Club at Wicomico Public Library. We’ll take an informal approach to discussing movies. Topics may include what we liked (or didn’t like) about a movie, why we are drawn to certain genres, and what the film may be saying about the world around us. Together, we’ll explore how movies create meaning and spark reflection.
Our first selection is Coal Miner’s Daughter (1980). Participants will watch the film on their own and then gather for discussion. The movie is available through the Wicomico Public Library and other libraries in our consortium and on streaming platforms.
The first meeting will be held on March 28, with future meetings taking place on the fourth Saturday of each month. We hope you’ll join us for a thoughtful conversation and shared appreciation of the film.
Looking ahead:
April 25—The Color Purple (2023)
May 29—The Little Mermaid (1989)
