Program Description

Event Details

If you love movies and enjoy talking about them with others, we invite you to join us for the first-ever Movies and Meaning Club at Wicomico Public Library.   We’ll take an informal approach to discussing movies. Topics may include what we liked (or didn’t like) about a movie, why we are drawn to certain genres, and what the film may be saying about the world around us. Together, we’ll explore how movies create meaning and spark reflection.

Our April selection is The Color Purple (2023). Participants will watch the film on their own and then gather for discussion. The movie is available through the Wicomico Public Library and other libraries in our consortium and on streaming platforms.

Meetings take place on the fourth Saturday of each month. We hope you’ll join us for a thoughtful conversation and shared appreciation of the film.

Looking ahead:

May 29—The Little Mermaid (1989)
