Teen yoga incorporates the principles of traditional yoga practices such as breath control, mindfulness, and physical postures, but is tailored to the unique needs and interests of teenagers. Registration is recommended.
In teen yoga classes, the instructor will typically begin by guiding participants through a breathing exercise or meditation to help them quiet their minds and focus on the present moment. This is especially important for teenagers who may be dealing with stress, anxiety, or other emotional challenges.
In addition to the physical benefits of yoga, teen yoga also focuses on promoting mental and emotional well-being. This may include discussions on topics such as self-esteem, body image, and healthy relationships. Teen yoga provides a safe and supportive space for teenagers to connect with themselves and with others, fostering a sense of community and belonging.
