Summer Reading Program 6/1 - 7/31
Everyone is welcome to join the Summer Reading Challenge for good books, fun activities, and prizes! If you’ve used Beanstack previously with Wicomico Public Library, you’re all set. Log in to your account and you’ll see challenges listed by reader age range.
New this year is the Summer Badge Book Bilingual Edition. This book, designed for children, perfectly matches the Beanstack App to provide engaging activities and fun stickers to mark the way to completing the summer challenge. Stickers visually match the badges earned on Beanstack! Don’t overlook the guest book found on the last few pages, make this badge book a fun keepsake for years to come.
Getting Started
Online or offline, it’s easy to participate in the summer reading challenge! Use Beanstack online or download the app from Google Play or the App Store. Follow the prompts to create a user account, then add readers to the account to include the whole family. Available challenges appear by the age of each reader. Have a question? Staff are available to help you get started.
Paper options are fun too! Pick up a summer magazine to find copies of game boards, download a copy here, or collect them in one of our branch locations. Paper game boards can be used independently or along with Beanstack online.
The new Summer Badge books for children are only available while supplies last. Stop by a branch location to collect one or find us at a community event this summer. Online access to the children’s summer reading challenge is unlimited and does not require a badge book to participate.
Prizes
Complete your summer reading challenge and claim your prize! Everyone who completes the summer reading challenge will win a new book along with a new toy, sports bag, or journal. Children will also win a kids meal from Firehouse Subs and a kids scoop of ice cream from Two Scoops Ice Cream and Waffles! Prizes will be awarded in branch locations, please show your completed game board or digital completion badge to a staff member to collect your prizes.
Log your activities on the Beanstack app, online or bring completed game boards to the library by August 1st. Additional copies of the game boards are available below.
