The community's outpouring of support for the Building Our Library Together capital campaign has been overwhelming! Your support means so much to us, and we love to hear the stories for why you want to be part of creating this new library with us. Take for example the very generous contribution from Mike Rommel, who has given $250,000 for the Orpah Lee Rommel Local History Reading Lounge at the forthcoming Paul S. Sarbanes Library on Schumaker Pond.

Wicomico Public Library is grateful and excited to announce a historic $1 million gift from the Donnie Williams Foundation to support the forthcoming Paul S. Sarbanes Library on Schumaker Pond. This major donation will support the creation of the primary programming area of the new flagship library expected to open in Summer 2027.

The Friends of the Library Committee of the Friends Foundation has done it again — leading the way with heart, hustle, and a deep love for our public library. We're thrilled to announce that the Friends have made the first major contribution to the capital campaign for the Friends Foundation of Wicomico Public Library — pledging an incredible $100,000 over three years!

Here’s a proud moment from our Capital Campaign Kickoff on July 22 — the Friends Foundation Board of Directors, led by Chair Marty Neat, standing strong behind the vision for the new Sarbanes Library on Schumaker Pond.

Mobile Services will be traveling all over Wicomico County this month to do some really great programs and events.

Important Update: Hoopla Service Changes Effective April 1, 2025 Due to the increased cost of Hoopla Digital, the Eastern Shore Regional Library will implement a daily spending cap for Hoopla services starting April 1, 2025. This spending cap will impact all eight county libraries in the Eastern Shore Regional Library Consortium, including Wicomico Public Library.
